New website

Postby Montellese » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:51 am

As some of you may or may not have noticed we have a new website (I sent a mail to everyone but who knows if everyone really received it). We migrated from Joomla to Wordpress and we are very happy with the result. The new website is far from being complete but it looks a lot user friendlier than the old one. It also provides the most important links to our forum, our bug tracker Trac, our new Wiki (unfortunately it's empty so far) and a chat plugin I implemented which allows everyone to directly connect to our IRC channel #ummdev on irc.freenode.net.

The accounts of the website are directly linked with the accounts in the forum so you don't need any extra registration. The same goes for the wiki BUT only people with write access can actually log into the wiki. So if you feel like you could help us on populating our new wiki please contact me and you will be given access.

If you run into any problems concerning your login on the website or in the forum this might be related to the migration from Joomla to Wordpress. All your passwords are lost and you need to make use of the "I forgot my password" functionality of phpBB which will auto-generate a new password for your account and send it to your email address. If you run into any problem do not hesitate to contact me.

Some of you may have already noticed that I reworked the website content. Here is what has changed:

added:
- About
---> F.A.Q.
---> The Team
- Downloads
- Support

changed:
- What is UMM? (new content and moved to "About")
- Downloads (was just a link to the board, now it's a dedicated page)
- Forum, Wiki, Chat and Bug Tracker links moved to "Support"

not yet done:
- how to post a feature request
- how to report a bug
- how to provide a patch
- how to help in development

If you found any typos or other mistakes please let me know. I'm always glad about any feedback I can get.
